FAQ

What is a “Select” team? A Select team is an opportunity for athletes to practice and play games with the best talent in the area. Select teams often hold tryouts to select players ready for the next level of competition. Select tournaments are held in the off-season (i.e. not during the spring season).

Who is “NoCo Select”? NoCo Select is a brand new organization created in partnership by Annie Nicholson, Executive Director of Boulder Valley Girls Lacrosse and Laura Fletcher, President of Havoc Girls Lacrosse Club, in Fort Collins.

Why are you offering a select team? The decision was made to combine forces with Ft. Collins and Loveland in order to offer a select club program in Northern Colorado.  As girls’ lacrosse has grown, there has also been considerable growth of talent in Boulder, Loveland, and Fort Collins.  Offering a select team in this area provides the opportunity for more girls to play lacrosse outside of the spring season.

How does it differ from spring teams? The Select team will focus on preparing players for summer tournaments. Because of different summer tournament eligibility rules, Select teams are typically organized by graduation year/grade, not age. Depending on your daughter’s age and grade, that may mean that she will play with a different group of players than during the spring season.

Is my child ready for a Select team? If you have questions about whether your daughter is ready for a Select team, please feel free to contact Laura Fletcher or Annie Nicholson for more information.  Depending on interest and number of players, NoCo Select may also offer a developmental team with different offerings for those players who want to bring their game to the next level but who aren’t quite ready for the NoCo Select team. Players who show improvement may have an opportunity to be an alternate on the Select team if needed.

Will it conflict with the spring lacrosse schedule? The select team schedule will not interfere with spring lacrosse. We believe your local club should be the priority during the spring season.

What is the refund policy?
Different programs have different refund policies, but the general rule is that if you need a refund, then we will charge 10% of the total payment to cover bank and admin fees if you cancel at least 7 days or more before a session has started. If you cancel less than 7 days before a session starts, we will be able to refund you 50%. There are no refunds or credits awarded for any reason once a session has started. We cannot award any refunds or credits for missed practices due to injury, illness, or any other reason once sessions have begun.
